This is a day that will be remembered forever ~ November 28, 2006
Will it be for the cichak (chEE-chUCK) that caused an hour long power outage at school?
No, although it was amazing to see a small lizard connect two main power phases using its tail on one contact and its head on the other contact. I would have expected it to blow up rather than act as a great conductor. You learn something new every day.
Will it be for the football match that I played with a bunch of expats against a local club?
No, although the huge thunderstorm scared me off the pitch while everyone else played in the torrential tropical down pour, dodging lightening strikes and a growing lake on the field. The referee on the sideline finally called the game when he could "feel the electricity in his umbrella". I personally thought the bright flash and deafening boom on the hill next to the field was a better gauge of danger.
It will be for the little tap tap of a kick from the inside of Shelly's tummy. We officially have a soccer baby growing and letting itself be felt for the first time. Amazing!
